Persuasive Essay 4 - Favorite Movie

The Gladiator

Movies have evolved over the years and now watching a movie and its effects is very incredible. I love watching movies especially movies that keep me interested with suspense. The effects that a movie has contribute a great deal to the overall production and that is why I love The Gladiator starring Russell Crowe. It is a great movie to watch with all of its suspense and action.

I have grown up watching The Gladiator. The suspense and results of the movie puts me in tears every time I watch it. Russell Crowe plays a great role in being a gladiator. He knows how to portray the pain that he felt when he lost his son and wife. Losing all he loved was hard because the people he fought for are the people that killed them.

The fighting scenes are insanely great in this movie. The movie is not gruesome but then again it has enough blood and action to keel you glued to the seat. Throughout the whole movie Russell Crowe is trying to prove that he deserves freedom from being a gladiator. Through all the obstacles in surviving he makes it through. 

Being that he won his freedom, the emperor doesn't want it to be so, and therefore he tries to kill him himself. The final battle between the emperor and Russell Crowe is the most emotional and intense battle in the movie. It is the battle you look forward to when you start watching the movie. 

When you want chills going through your body, this is the movie to watch. The Gladiator will give you an emotional roller coaster because it touches your heart. I love this movie and it should be a movie that everybody watches. The DVD should be in everybody’s movie cases. 

Essay 3 - Going To College After Graduation vs. Taking A Break

College after Graduation

After graduating, a lot of people make the wrong decision in saying that they are going to take a break from school and start working or they are going to start traveling. I honestly believe that that is one of the biggest mistakes that you can make throughout your life because education is so huge that there are an abundance of possibilities when you take your education to another level. Going on to college could be one of the best decisions that you can make. Make somebody out of yourself; do not just make yourself settle for less because in the end, you are the one that is going to be living good because of that great decision.

            The economy is in a slump right now and most jobs are laying people off and barely hiring people. Nowadays, there is a very slim chance that you are getting a call back from a job. A lot of students think that with a high school diploma, getting a job should be a piece of cake but a lot of people are looking for jobs so the person that qualifies more is going to get the job. People are taking the advantage of this education and are expanding their knowledge so that they can get a better paying job. When you take your education to a higher level, you are already opening a different door to a better career. A lot of employers are looking for the top notch workers who are over achievers and can get the work done. With an economy like this, that is all you can expect from employers.

            When you take time off to work and travel, you are short handing yourself. People do not understand that when you only have a high school diploma and a regular paying job, it is going to be VERY hard to travel. Traveling takes up a lot of time and money. If you do not have a well paying job, you are going to be saving up your money for a very cool minute until you can actually go on vacation.

            Taking time off of your education is always a platform for failure. You are setting yourself up because you already know that if you are taking a break from school, you are going to end up not going back. A lot of people say that they are going to go back to school in a couple of years but they end up not going back because they get caught up with their jobs, they had kids, or they just got lazy and did not feel like going back.

            We are given a great education here in the United States. Why don’t we take advantage of it? Getting a better education leads to having a better job which gives you more money so you can spend it for the rest of your happy life. Education brings knowledge and wisdom, so make the right decision.

What sounds do you hear? I hear my favorite music because my music has my heart in its hands. I love music, without it, I am nothing.

What mood does the picture bring to mind? The mood that the picture brings is so serene. I love the mood that music puts me in. I can be in the worst mood, but when I hear music I am calm and happy in peace.

What emotion does the picture elicit? Looking at the picture I feel as if I am in heaven because to me music is love and both together takes me to heaven. I feel like if I am bouncing on the clouds of music and love.

Does your image invoke the sensation of taste? No, it does not invoke the sensation of taste.

Prompt 1 - Outside Living vs City Apartment

I think that there is a big difference from outside living and living in an apartment in the city.The city is the place to be. I love being in the city. I grew up in the city. Hearing the ambulance sirens every night or the airplanes fly over the city is part of my sleeping routine. I love looking at all the lights that the beautiful city of Los Angeles has. The City is a part of my lifestyle.
Growing up I lived in Los Angeles and I believe that the city is far better than living in the country. The things you learn in the city will prepare you for the real world. Everything in the city is faster and chaos. You see things that you will not see in the country. The city is where you have to work for everything. You have to do crazy things sometimes but when it all comes to an end it’s something that you can look back upon.
You have options when you come to the city. You can work at a grocery store, you can go to school, you can work at the beach in the summer, and you can do all different types of things. One day, you might just wake up and say I want to go to the beach. You get up and go to the beach. Every morning, you get up and most of the time you have to do something different. The excitement is huge because every day, you do not know what you will be doing. You might go to work and do your regular routine but in the city, you just never know. The intensity the city brings is so much more invigorating because your possibilities are endless. Sometimes your days are really busy that you run out of time. Some people do not believe that is possible, but it is. You can run out of time.
The country is something that I like to call BOREDOM! You do your daily chores and then what do you do? Just sit around and maybe have some fun. In most of the country, houses are miles away from each other because most of these houses in the country have farms. Farms are the only reason that most of these people are living in the country. The country is somewhere where you cannot be there by yourself because you have no idea what is out there. In the country you just do not worry about people but you also have to worry about the different wild animals. In the city, I only worry about people. I’d rather worry about just people than people and animals.
Everybody has their own opinion. My opinion is that the city is way better than the country. I would take the city over the country any day. Some people do not like the fact that all the bad stuff happens in the city but you have to see beyond that. You have to see the real city where you find all of the noise peaceful and your home. Once you accept that, you will see the city’s beauty the way I see it.

Doctor..

If I was a doctor I would be the doctor that would study the different types of blood types. I want to see the different types of diseases. I want to help find the cure for different diseases. I want to be able to help people with their problems with their blood. The job would consist of me drawing blood from different people and then I would study the blood to see if there is anything wrong with them to see if everything is normal. I want to be able to study and probably see any type of altercations.

Twenty Ft. Tall.

If I was twenty tall I would be above the world. I would love to see how a bird sees from up above.. The only thing that I do not want to be is big because I do not want to squish anybody while I am walking. I hope that everybody can accept me for who I am. I want to be able to still have friends and everybody did not act different.

One Thing Im Good At..

A think that I am good at is listening to people and their problems. I give somebody the opportunity to let me help them and then I would give them good advice. All of my friends come to me to help them. I believe that I ahve gone through so much and that has made me mature into a smart young lady. I think alot and sometimes I think I can be a philosopher. I make up different theories when I am in deep thought. When people come to me I give them great advice.

A New Sandwich

My new sandwich would be made out of chicken. The chicken would have green pepper and onion. It would be tomato sauce cooked. It would be really good. Then you would get mayonnaise and spread it on a bread that has been shredded cheese grilled on it. You would put avocado on it and then you would bring the bead together and then you would eat it.

Something I Won

One day we went to the fair and I wanted a big ball that had the cover of the lakers. It was big and bouncy but I really wanted it. My dad gave me 5 dollars so we can try and they gave us 3 shots. I took a shot and I missed and then my dad took one and he missed. We had the last shot and then I was confident that I was going to make it so my dad let me get the last shot and when I shot it. I made it :)

Super Power..

If I could choose a superpower I would want to fly or I would want to be able a persons mind. I would want to fly because I could get away whenever I wanted. I wouldn't have to worry about anything or anyone because I could leave. Just fly away... I would want to read people's minds because I want to be able to see what people really think about and I know I will not feel bad.

Afternoon With Anybody..

If I could spend an afternno with anybody I would spend it with my favorite cousin Jonathan. I would soend it with him because he has always been there for me and he is the one who showed me a lot growing up. I can bewith my cousin all day and we just talk about life. He is a couple of years older than me so he has had a couple of experiences. I would listen to my cousin becuase I know that he would not let me down. He alwasy has my back and I have his. Now that he is in the army I wish that I could have spent more time with him but when he comes back I know that we will have fun because he made Airborne and because it is going to be my birthday :)

Visit ToThe Moon...

I would visit the moon because I would loveto see how it feels to be in outer space. I want to feel accomplished becuse I went to the moon. I want to see the difference from standing on the ground and standing on the moon. The stars, all of the beautiful aspects of a world that we have no idea about besides pictures. I would love to visit the moon.

Several Ways A Person Can Make Money...

Several ways a person my age can make money is by...

• trying to hustle at school by selling different products to the students.
• They can look for a job that can pay them money.
• babysitting
• braiding or doing hair
• Inventing something new and selling it to a big corporation
• Be smart and stay in school so that you can have something to make money.

Baby Dragon.

In the land of dragons lived a little baby dragon and his name was Riko. Riko loved to play around. He was the youngest out of all the other dragons. He always got in trouble because he did not know how to control his energy. He would bounce off walls and he loved to fly. He like playing hide and seek with the other dragons. One day, Riko came home from dragon school where they had taught him how to control his flame. He went inside the house and started doing his homework. When he was doing his homework, he started to get bored so he decided to have some fun...

Winter..

My favorite season is the winter. the winter is my favorite season because I can get warm. I can put on as many sweaters as I want to get warm unlike the summer where it is SO hard to get cool. I love the winter because the days are so gloomy and chill. The rain relaxes me and the cold makes me want to snuggle in my blanket and not wake up. I love to watch movies the most when it is the winter because I just get my blanket and alot of movies and I am ready to go. I love the winter. I love the cold. I love the fact that I have the option ofbeing warm or cold.

Game Show...

If I could be on a game show, I would be on a game show where it would not be hard to win a lot of money. I want to win money so then I can move on with my life with some cash in my pocket. Haha. While on the game show, I would have to be on my toes so that I can win the money. I have to answer every question with my best ability.

The Best Thing At My House...

The thing that I like most about my house would be my den. I love my den because that is the place where I can be all day. We have 3 couches where you can lay on and just be really comfortable. Then we have an entertainment system that will kepp you entertained for days. We have a plasma tv with a wii, ps3, dvd, and 3 computers. I have all the movies that have possibly came out. I do not get bored in my den. I take my blanket when its cold and just sit on the couch with the stack of movies that I have chosen to watch throughout the whole day. The den is my sanctuary.

Football Stadium..

If I worked at a football stadium, I would be the coach. The coaches play a big role in the game of football. Without a coach, the team would not be a team. On the job, I would tell my team the different plays that they need to do for certain situations. If I was the coach, I would do everything in my power to help my team win. With the knowledge that I would have on football would be put in good use. I will show the team that we need each other.

4 Years Ago...

Four years ago, I was 13. I remember I was an 8th grader and I was getting ready to go into highschool. Back then, I had alot of questions that alot of people could not answer but now, I do not need anybody do to answer them because I have matured enough to know what is going on. I grew up from four years ago. I am independent now. Before, I could not be by myself. I had to have somebody to feel comfortable but now I have learned that you are your own best friend. I also know alot of the things that I had no idea what they were when I was 13 years old. I do not regret anything that has happened to me in the past years, I believe they had made me who I am today.

A Monkey Pet..

I do want a monkey as a pet but not just any monkey. I want a reices monkey. I want one because I think they are so cute. It reminds me like the monkey from Aladdin. I would play with him and take care of him. I would also be very cautious so he won't be a monkey to attack the owner. I am going to do anything possible so that will not happen.

The Youngest Person I Know..

The youngest person I know is my little brother Jr. The sunshine of my life. This little boy is filled with so much energy it kills me how he comes home with something new every day. He is going to be 3 in November. I love my little brother. He knows how to put a smile on my face on my gloomiest days. He can come to my room, just give me a hug and a kiss and I would be happy. I am happy that I am here to watch him grow. I can't wait to see how he is when he is older.

The Oldest Person...

The oldest person I know is my grandpa. My grandpa is 75 years old. He is the wisest man that I know and that is a life that I do not want to give up. He has taught me alot growing up and he is a person that I will never doubt because, he has gone through so much and to still be alive till this day is a miracle. From having a couple of heartattacks and a stroke, he is the man that pushed through it all. I love that old man with my whole heart. I would do anything for him.

A Wonderful Painter

I am a wonderful painter and my parents let me paint my room whatever way I wanted, I had so much fun. My four walls are something that nobody will ever be able to duplicate. The wall where my bed is where I put the stuff that i love the most. Basketball was my mmain source for this wall. The general idea was love and basketball because the love I have for basketball will defeat the love for anything and anybody else in this world. The color orange was imprinted on my wall along with gold and purple for my favorite basketball team, the Lakers. Along with basketball came along the music notes because without music and basketball, my life would deteriorate. They both know how to bring me back to my sanity. I am in paradise when I have those two things by my side. On my other wall, where my window is, I expressed my alter ego, Jas. Jas is the mastermind. She runs things and doesnt let anybody take adavantage of her. She stands alone and she does not need anybody. This wall is nothing but confusion. The colors are everywhere. The colors range from blue, yellow, green, white, red, and gray. If you saaw this wall you would not understand what it would be because I feel as if that part of my life, nobody understands me and I love that. The 3rd wall would be a happy wall. Where all my rainbows and happy faces come out. I think I would use a dash of pink in this one. Haha. Well my 4th wall, I would let my friends do it. My roll dawgs would have their own place and then my best friends and then my siblings. They would have a blast. Without them, My life would not be the same so I need them to have a space in my room because they reflect me. 

The Bat Who Couldn't Fly.

The bat who couldn't fly didn't know what to do because all of the other bats could fly and when they would leave her, she would be sad. All of the other bats made fun of her because she did not have the skill that they had. They soared in the air while she had to settle and walk to her different destinations. She coud not do anything but accept the fact the she coud not fly. She would always be depressed because her biggest dream was to fly. She wanted to play hide-and seek with the other bas but she couldn't, she had to be left behind. Growing up, she was the odd ball. She did not like the fact that she was weird, she wanted to be popular. She wanted to have fun too. She was a normal bat, and when she was an adult, flying did not even matter anymore, but flying will always be her biggest dream.

Lunch with a famous Person.

If I could ahve luinch with a famous person, I would have lunch with Kobe Bryant. He is my all time favorite basketball player. I would just talk to him about the thing that we both passionatley love, basketball. I would ask all the different obstacles that he had to overcome becoming a great basketball player. I grew up watching Kobe Bryant and I would love to talk about how basketball changed his life and how it helped him in his life.

Brothers & Sisters

I do have brothers and sisters, I have a step brother and sister and then I have my real little sister and my realy little brother. I count them all as my brothers and sisters though because we have grown up with each other and we all love each other even if we weren't blood related. My step sister's name is Celestte. She is 17 years old like me. I am older than her by 6 months. Celestte is the opposite of me but then she is my best friend. I can tell her eveything and she knows everything about me. She has a firm attitude but then I am the one who likes to clown around. She is more girlie than I am and she loves to party. My older step brother's name is Julian. He is 23 years old. Julian is a funny guy who loves kids. He loves to give advice too but then sometimes he can be mean. My little sister's name is Emily. She is 10 years old. My little sister, man she is crazy. I can not be in the same housae with her for more than 3 days. We would start figthing and we would not stop until I just give up and cuss at her or something. She is a person that loves to have her own way and if she does not get it then she starts crying. She's nuts. My little brother Junior, I call him baby or T.J. I love this little boy. He can make me smile on my gloomiest days. He comes in my room to give me a hug and to say I love you. He is so smart and whatever he hears us say, he repeats. He can learn words in a quick second. Thats my little brother. He is so cute and strong. He knows whats good and whats bad. Its crazy how much a 3 year old knows. I love all of my brothers and sisters. I would do anything for them no matter what.

Any Animal As a Pet...

If I could have any animal as a pet, I would choose a penguin. I would pick a penguin because I love penguins, it would have that little tuxedo suit. the only difference is that the black would be a dark blue. A blue that would shine in the sun. He would be little and fat. He would be really furry and my peguin would be able to live in room temperature. He does not need to be on ice to survive. He can be just like every other animal. I can have him in my house, he can sleep with me, and he can play outside wth his little webb feet. I woul dhave to give him fish to eat though because he is a carnivore. I would name him Nico and I would take care of him and play with him every day. I would give him the most love anybody can give him.

Pirate Ship

Being on a pirate ship would be a very weird adventure. I think that if i was on a pirate ship, I would want to bust that Peter Pan adventure like Wendy and Peter Pan. I mean I have always wanted to go to Neverland. A place where nobody grows up and just have fun. Thats a place where I wish I could be most days. I do not know where my childhood days went so to relive those moments would be a blast. To learn how to fly with the lost boys or to learn how to fight with swords would be the biggest adventure of my life. Having the power to even manuever or to take control of the pirate ship would be so much fun. Having that little fling with one of the crew members. Haha, that would be hilarious.
